C&D requires assemblies ready to be installed during the building of an aircraft. The assemblies are a mixture of machined components and hardware like rivets and nut plates. The machined components will often have plating and painting requirement. Apex manufactures many different assemblies of this type.
Problem
The large number of components associated with such assemblies carries a high administration costs for C&D. There are a lot of parts to track and organize to have the assemblies ready on time.
Solution
C&D reduces operating costs by subcontracting the assemblies to Apex. We take care of the machining, plating, heat treatments, painting and any other processes. Apex also provides the hardware installed on the machined parts. The parts are inspected to guarantee the quality and shipped properly labeled, with material and process certifications.
Results
Apex produces the assemblies and delivers them on a Just-In-Time basis thanks to a blanket order for the year. The customer saves money, gets assemblies on time, and knows that they are made to specification.
